I have to do a post on Marc Bell, simply because I think he’s a genius, and a huge impact on my work. His work is best described by just about any word that comes to mind. By working mostly on paper, Bell creates elaborate narrative-based fields of thought that sort of smack you in… [Read more…]

This was my final project for my motion graphics class. Each student chose a film they really loved and designed a title sequence that conveyed the mood and setting of the film. I chose Sin City because of its beautiful graphic images and over-produced, gritty feel. It was a great movie to work with, and… [Read more…]

All of the above describes Micah Lidberg’s work. An illustrator from somewhere, Middle West America, Micah makes some ridiculously lush textures with beautiful patterning techniques in a heavy arsenal of vibrant colors that remind me of a Fruit by the Foot. His lengthy, wide, and highly detailed scenes are extensive narratives that dip into the… [Read more…]

His work is a conglomerate… [Read more…]

Today I’d like to feature the illustrator/ designer Philipp Dornbierer who operates under the alias Yehteh. His work is very flat and graphic, using simple geometry to compose figures and landscapes in a very limited palette. His illustrations are simple, but dynamic- compositionally they feel very balanced and meticulously engineered. Dornbierer works in Zurich, Switzerland.
